About Vito's Slices and Ices

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. Typical hours are 11 AM–11 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (212) 273-1186. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. More information is available on its website, vitosslicesandices.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 2,307 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded pizza restaurants in New York.

New York is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around New York is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

First time visiting, specifically for the vegan options! Violife cheese is a pretty solid choice, and it tastes great on authentic NYC crispy pizza crust. The server was super cool and offered me a soy-based pepperoni slice to go with my regular slice to go. Tasted great and will absolutely be coming again. Only thing is it's a tiny spot with a winding line in a hot room... but hey, that's just about every NYC pizza joint for ya. πŸ€™

Casually walked by and decided to stop in. I didn’t think it would ever be possible to find a gluten free pizza that tasted better than almost any regular slice I’ve ever had. It. Was. Incredible. It’s the gluten free grandma slice. And do yourself a favor and order some lemon Italian ice while you wait. The flavor is insane! I will be telling everyone about Vito’s!

This place looks old school but that might just be for show. The important part is that the slice (margherita is QUALITY. The service is quick and courteous. Even the clientele is nice. Will be coming back when in the area.

Very nice little pizza place. Lunch time, the line spills down the block, but the service is very quick. These guys know what they’re doing. And how to make great pizza. Thin slice with thick chewy crust. I prefer a thick slice, but I can’t hold that against β€˜em; it’s delicious. And the slice doesn’t droop. Plus the counter guy is super nice. Maybe 12 stools by the counter at the two windows. Great place. ♿️

A real classic slice joint doing elevated slices and pristine Italian ices in a bizarre location. One of the best window slices I’ve seen. Everything in window looked fresh and desirable. Prices reasonable for manhattan these days; ice are a great value as I use Ralph’s as a compare. Lower pricing and insane quality difference. I was really impressed with the eyes and flavor variety. Chocolate and cremolata are my favorites. Would love to try cherry next time. Must try in summer for NYC. Not much room to eat. If this spot was in a better location and had more seating I think the lines would be consistent.
